ARALCO was born in September 15 of 1978, in Araçatuba , In an area of the municipality which was later spun off , leading to the city of Santo Antonio do Aracanguá. Pioneer in fuel ethanol production in northeast region of São paulo State. First crop was made in 1981 with capacity of production of 120 thousand liters of fuel ethanol a day. In that year the factory processed 320 thousand tones of sugarcane.
From 1983, ARALCO started investing in agriculture and started planting sugarcane, the raw material used in ethanol and sugar production. Henceforth didn’t stop to develop its structure ,expanding its fleet, innovating it equipment, purchasing new lands and making association with local landowners.
From 1995¸ARALCO diversified its products and started producing 2,5 thousand bags of sugar a day, in a brand-new unit of production, following the most modern concepts of quality. In 1997, realized the first enlargement and then started producing 7 thousand bags a day. Since then several magnifications have been made to reach the the current capacity of 11 thousand bags a day. The capacity of milling today is 10.800 tones of cane a day.
In 1999 Generalco distillery was purchased by ARALCO, when its capacity of milling was 4000 tones of sugarcane a day. Nowadays it’s 7.600 tones a day.
In 2006 the administration of Alcoazul started being made with ARALCO’s board of administration. In that time the daily capacity of milling was 6000 tones a day. Nowadays that unit has a milling capacity of 10500 tones a day.
In 2007 began the construction of Figueira, in Buritama municipality. In 2008 were milled 800.000 tones of sugarcane. The current capacity is 5.800 tones a day.
In 2010 ARALCO associated with COPERSUCAR and from 2011 all its production is being marketed through this company.
Nowadays ARALCO and its partners has the annual capacity of 8.200.000 tones of sugarcane, transforming raw material in anhydrous ethanol, anhydrous hydrated ethanol and VHP sugar. About 70% of crop is mechanized, with 5 thousand employees during the crop.
